It’s important to take time away from social media to give your creative juices time to flow. If you’re constantly consuming other people’s content, sooner than later you will begin to imitate them and lose your authenticity.

Why I Took a Break

After having a few unproductive weeks, I decided to take a break from social media. I realized that I was consuming more content than I was creating. I lost focus and found myself mindlessly scrolling way too often. I think every couple of months, we should all regroup and revisit our social media goals and content strategies.

Social media is not a hobby for me. I am currently building my brand, so I use it to educate, motivate, and connect with like minded women all over the world.

For the past couple of days, I’ve spent less time focused on others and more time concentrating on my own personal and business endeavors. I can’t wait to share everything I’ve been working on with you!

If you’ve been doing one or more of the following below, there’s a chance you may need to take a break from social media too!

Today marks Day 4 of my 7 day social media cleanse. I am happy that I made this decision because I’m already feeling refreshed! There are a few pros and cons of taking a break from social media though. Check them out below:

Although there are cons of taking a break from social media, I still recommend that you take a social media break! Your mental health will thank you later.

I would love to know… why do you use social media? How much time do you spend on social media? What tips would you give someone regarding how to monitor social media usage?
