Are you currently planning a wedding? If so, I highly recommend that you attend a wedding show! Here is a bit about our experience and how you can make the best out of yours.

This past weekend, my family and I attended the Rhode Island Wedding & Bridal Expo at the Rhode Island Convention Center. We are during our early stages of wedding planning and decided to attend the show to get inspiration, meet wedding vendors, find out about the latest wedding trends, and win prizes. I have never heard of a wedding/bridal show before we attended so when I came across it, I was intrigued. My fiancé and I both agreed that we want our wedding planning to be fun, so it sounded like the perfect event for us.

Here is what we enjoyed most at the wedding expo:

Attending the event together

Sundays are always full of fun family activities for us so we were happy that children could attend the event. Our daughter had the time of her life!

New York Lace Fashion Show

The fashion show was amazing! We all enjoyed it. My daughter has a passion for fashion, so this was perfect for her. The DJ did a great job, and the models were flawless. We loved seeing the beautiful dresses. There were dresses for brides, mother of the brides, and bridesmaids. I haven’t started shopping for wedding dresses yet but now I have so much inspiration. 

Taking Photos

If you know me, you know I love taking pictures! There were many vendors who offered photo booth services and they let us take pictures for free. Taking pictures in front of the flower wall was my favorite. I am creating a wedding scrapbook/keepsake, so I want to document these special moments.

Tasting Treats

This was my daughter’s favorite part of the event. We tasted cupcakes and chocolate from a beautiful chocolate fountain. The vanilla cupcakes were so delicious and moist. 

Speaking with vendors

Having the opportunity to speak with vendors and ask them questions was wonderful. They all had so many deals. We had no idea how much some of the services costed but now we’re able to create a more realistic budget. 

Giveaways

If you’re like us and have a wedding budget, you’re going to love the freebies and giveaways as well. Every little savings counts! I signed up for everything. Wish us luck! I also got the opportunity to schedule some wedding dress appointments and save their too.

The show lasted four hours but we spent about two hours there which was ample enough time to meet vendors, taste yummy treats, take pictures, and attend the fashion show.  

Overall, we had a great time and we’re even more excited to plan our wedding! Cheers to making more memories!
