How to Crush Your Monthly Goals

Is anyone else’s new year officially starting today?! Everyone knows January- March is a 90 day trial period so if things haven't gone as planned that's okay! Beginning today we are resetting and starting the year off on our OWN terms.

One of the goals I set this year was to be intentional with my time.  I just don't have any more time to waste and neither do you. The world is waiting for us so let’s get to it!

Do you already have a plan to crush your goals this month? If not, I GOT YOU SIS! I just hope you're ready to get uncomfortable and push yourself to the next level.

Here are 5 Activities You Can Do to Crush Your Monthly Goals:

  1. REFLECT

  2. BRAIN DUMP

  3. SET S.M.A.R.T. GOALS

  4. CREATE A ROUTINE

  5. LIST YOUR AFFIRMATIONS

Now let's break them down.

1. REFLECT

Reflection is the first step to growth. It allows you to measure your success, determine your strengths and weaknesses and improve your overall effectiveness. You can reflect once a day, once a week or once a month if you’d like.

There's so much you can learn about yourself through reflecting.

Here are some monthly reflection questions you could ask yourself:

  1. What did I learn?

  2. How did I make self-care a priority?

  3. What was my biggest accomplishment?

  4. What was my biggest challenge?

  5. What did I spend the most time on?

  6. What did I spend the least time on?

  7. Am I on track for accomplishing my goal by its deadline?

2. BRAIN DUMP

I don't know about you, but I think TOO much. I am constantly thinking about something all the time. “Dinner, activities for Aliyah, date night, book club, sleeping... the list goes on. I love taking a moment to just clear my mind and close all the open tabs in my head. I prefer to brain dump on paper, but you can use your phone, post it notes etc.

Here are some brain dump ideas:

  • Things you've been worried about

  • Things you keep forgetting

  • Things you need to get done

  • Things you didn’t have time to do

  • Goals you want to accomplish

  • Events/activities for yourself or your children

  • Project ideas

  • Parts of your routine you want to improve

  • Vacation/party planning

  • Doctor appointments

Literally anything you can think of!

3. SET S.M.A.R.T. GOALS

Setting goals is great but accomplishing them is even better, right?! Make sure all of your goals are:

Specific- What do you want to happen?

Measurable- How will you know when you have achieved your goal?

Attainable- Is the goal realistic?

Relevant- Why is the goal important to you?

Timely- What is your deadline for this goal?

4. CREATE A ROUTINE

If you haven't heard this before, you’re going to hear it now, “SUCCESS IS IN YOUR ROUTINE.” Covid definitely altered my morning routine but I am slowly getting back to it. One of the things I enjoy most about my morning routine is that it sets the tone for the day. I am much happier, energetic, and focused.

Here are some morning routine ideas:

  • Listen to a motivational video/podcast (I love listening to Sarah Jakes Roberts in the mornings)

  • No social media for an hour

  • Drink a bottle of water

  • Make a To Do List

  • Journaling

  • Reading

  • Exercising

5. LIST YOUR AFFIRMATIONS

Your affirmations are much needed because they’re going to keep you grounded. Affirmations motivate us, boost our confidence, and lead us to positive thinking. I normally hang my affirmations in a place where I can see them every day to remind myself to keep going.

Here are some monthly affirmations:

  •  My life is just beginning

  • I am an asset

  • I can succeed on my own terms

  • I can do great things

  • I am going to make a difference

  • I will not let fear get the best of me

I hope you have an amazing month & crush every goal you desire!
