5 Planning Tips to Help You Have a Productive Week

The Stationery Muse Business Planner

Raise your hand if planning is a part of your daily life! I love planning because I love progression. There’s no greater feeling than becoming a better version of myself.

Whether you are an entrepreneur or a professional, I’m sure you can relate. We all set goals in our lives and strive to achieve them. If you find yourself wondering why you aren’t as successful as you’d like, most likely it is because you lack preparation. I’ve noticed that the way I plan and structure my days determine how productive my week is.

Here are my weekly planning tips for high achievers :

5 plannings tips to help you have a productive week

CHOOSE ONE DAY FOR PLANNING

If you want to make planning a habit, choose one day out of the week to plan every week and stick to it! Consistency leads to progress! My planning day is Saturday. On Saturday mornings I wake up before everyone else and I plan my personal and professional tasks.

BRAIN DUMP

My favorite thing to do is clear my mind! Before you get started with your planning, write down all of your ideas and thoughts. This will help you declutter your mind and prioritize your tasks.

REFLECT & RESET WITH JOURNALING

On Sundays I reflect and reset. It’s important to make time for reflecting each week. In order to grow, you must acknowledge where you are coming from. Every week I post new journal prompts on my YouTube channel & Instagram page to help you get to know yourself better. Journaling is also a great mindfulness practice. It helps you focus on the present moment.

SET S.M.A.R.T. GOALS

Make sure your goals are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely. Being realistic is key! Don’t try to bite off more than you can chew. By setting S.M.A.R.T. goals you will have clarity for the week.

PLAN YOUR DAY THE NIGHT BEFORE

When you plan the night before, you wake up with a definite purpose. Now that I started planning the night before, I rarely press the snooze button because I’m excited to get my day started. Another thing you want to do is minimize your to do list. I recommend tackling your top 3 priorities . A long to do list looks good, but it doesn’t feel good when you don’t accomplish most of it. I love time blocking as well. It is another way to hold yourself accountable. Time blocking discourages multitasking and encourages deep focused work.

As you already know, things don’t always go as planned, but planning ahead is essential. You will become more proactive, productive, and accountable. I hope your next week is amazing!
