2021 End of Year Reflection

Alicia Jennings

Honestly I’m lost for words. For the first time in my life, I dedicated the entire year to personal development. I’m stronger, wiser, and better than I was a year ago and I’m extremely proud of myself. You can’t tell me anything!!! My confidence is at an all time high. Who knew all I needed was some discipline, consistency, and confidence to make it this far.

If I could describe 2021 in one word it would be FAITH. I believed in myself more than I’ve ever done so before. My strength was tested numerous times this year but faith pushed me through.

  • Balancing motherhood, your relationship, and your individuality is hard

  • Building a business is hard

  • Working a 9-5 that you’re not passionate about is hard

  • Being discipline and consistent is hard

  • Losing a parent is hard

One thing I’ve learned this year is that I am capable and I can do hard things. I’m willing to do the hard work if that means living the life I desire.

Another word to describe 2021 is BITTERSWEET. This year was full of so many happy moments and some sad ones as well. After six years, I finally launched my blog! I created my own platform to share my story. I was so afraid to give others a glimpse of my world but I’m glad I did. Over the past nine months, more than 1,000 people have visited my blog and that is so surreal! I don't dwell on the numbers but I am happy that my words are reaching women all over the world.

My biggest smile this year came when I got engaged! On Valentine’s Day my sweet love proposed to me. (I will be sharing our proposal story soon. Stay tuned!) All I can say is that I am blessed to have someone who values me as much as I value myself. I’m looking forward to strengthening our bond even more.

My biggest challenge of 2021 was losing my Dad. I lost one of the people I love the most, but I gained wisdom. I’m more intentional. I’m more passionate. I’m more purposeful. I’m more grateful. The hard truth is that no one is going to live forever so you better enjoy your loved ones while they’re here.

Overall 2021 was a great year for me. I’m more than excited for 2022 though! I’m looking forward to resetting, refocusing, and realigning. I hope you’re ready to thrive!

Here are a few journal prompts to help you gain clarity, become self aware, recharge, and acknowledge your wins.

Journal prompts to help you reflect and reset for the new year

Take a moment this week to acknowledge how far you have come and brainstorm where you want to be.

What are you looking forward to in 2022?

Don’t forget to like, comment, and share with someone you know. It is greatly appreciated!
