Book Review: Losin Control by Ladii Nesha
What was your favorite read for March?
My favorite read last month was Losin Control by Ladii Nesha π₯π₯π₯
I loved this book so much!!! Typically long books intimidate me but I read all 617 pages in less than a week. I swear I laughed the entire time! Ladii Nesha is a comedian on the low.
If I had this book in my teens/20s, my love life probably would've turned out differently. Like Marley, I lost loved ones to gun violence and it made me scared to live and love again. Survivor's guilt is no joke!
Now let's talk about Czar aka Julius ππ₯° I loved me some him! I love when men don't play about their ladies ππΎ When he told Marley, βThe reasons I want you have nothing to do with the outside world. You bring me a sense of peace that I want to live in forever" my heart melted.
Czar could have any woman in the world but he chose Marley's authenticity over everything. Ladies that's a reminder to be yourself!!
What I loved the most about this book is that Marley and Czar didn't let their past trauma control their present thoughts, feelings, or actions. They really beat the odds.
I read a quote somewhere that said, "If you're not careful you'll bleed on the person that didn't even cut you." I pray we all heal before getting into new relationships. There's a lot of innocent bystanders getting their heart broken because someone else chose not to healβ¦
